The Viega ProPress System revolutionized the way pipes are joined by reducing connection time to 7 seconds or less and eliminating the need for burn permits and fire watches. As this method continues to grow in popularity, we hear many questions about proper use. As an authorized Viega distributor, a common question we are asked by customers is: Are ProPress fittings for use with gas? Are ProPress fittings for use with oils?
The answer to this is simply, it depends. Viega ProPress and MegaPress approved applications depend on the product line, material type (copper, stainless, or carbon steel) and the sealing element (EPDM, FKM, or HNBR.)
