Quick Opening Everlasting 4000A and 4001A Boiler Blowdown Valves feature a straight-through flow with a leak-proof, cast iron seal disc that has self-lapping action and actually improves with overall use. The self-wiping action of the disc means that it will not get hung-up on boiler scale. 

How do Everlasting 4000 Boiler Blowdown Valves work?  The line pressure and heavy spring hold the disc firmly in place against the body seat, sealing off the flow. When operated, the disc slides across the body seat pushing harmful boiler scale away, and also wiping clean the precision lapped surface. The v-ring post packing self-adjusts by a spring and line pressure. This prevents destructive erosion and leakage of stuffing box.
